Overview
This article explains the Comments tab in the Finding Details pane.
It’s where all comments related to the finding are stored — including internal notes and explanations for status changes. Comments help teams collaborate, document reasoning, and track context over time.
Details
If you change a finding’s status to Fixed, you’ll be prompted to describe the reason — and that explanation is saved here automatically.
Important:
Comments entered by your team are not visible to the CYE service team unless you explicitly tag @CYE Team.
You can use the Comments tab to:
Log decision-making details
Coordinate with colleagues
Track conversations tied to the finding over time
All comments are retained in the finding’s history and can be reviewed or updated later.
Filtering Options
To help you focus on the most relevant information, the Comments tab includes filtering options:
User-initiated toggle
A toggle named User-initiated allows you to control which comments are shown:When the toggle is off (default), both user-initiated comments and system-generated messages are displayed.
When the toggle is on, only comments created by human users are shown. Automated system messages (such as automatic reopening of a finding) are hidden.
This is useful for reducing noise and focusing on discussions and decisions made intentionally by the remediation team.
Text filter
A text input field lets you filter comments by content.
As you type, the list updates automatically to show only comments that include the entered text string.
Wrap-up / Next Steps
Use the Comments tab to keep your team aligned and your decisions transparent. It’s a simple way to document what happened — and why.
