Overview
Linking findings to NIST subcategories allows the Cye platform to include them in maturity calculations. This article shows how to link or unlink findings directly from either the maturity assessment screen or the Findings page.
How to Link or Unlink a Finding
From the Maturity Assessment Screen
In the Linked findings section of a subcategory, click the finding to update
The Findings page opens with the finding in the right-hand pane
Go to the Standards tab and locate the NIST section:
Edit the subcategory link:
To unlink, delete the existing subcategory
To relink, choose a new subcategory
From the Findings Page
Go to the Findings page directly
Select a finding that isn't yet linked
In the right-hand pane, open the Standards tab
Under the NIST section, select the subcategory to link this finding to
Once a finding is linked to a subcategory, it becomes eligible for use in that subcategory's maturity calculation.

Linking findings strengthens the maturity assessment by correlating it with real-world evidence. Links can be managed from either the assessment view or the findings list — whichever approach best aligns with the workflow.
