Positive Scoring of Subcategories

Learn how Hyver applies automatic positive maturity scores using platform insights.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

Hyver can enhance your maturity score by automatically assigning a positive rating to specific subcategories—based on system insights. This helps ensure that your maturity assessment reflects not only what's implemented, but also what risks are effectively avoided.

When Positive Scoring Is Applied

Hyver assigns a maturity level of 3 to a subcategory automatically when:

  • Platform data shows that certain findings are not applicable to that subcategory

  • This absence is interpreted as a positive security indicator

These cases reflect areas where maturity is inferred from a lack of risk, rather than from direct implementation evidence.

Important Notes

  • These scores are generated using Hyver insights, not manual input

  • You can override this score manually if needed

  • Positive scoring applies only when no other maturity data (ratings or links) has been provided for that subcategory

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Hyver’s positive scoring helps you gain credit where it’s due—even for risks you’ve already mitigated or avoided. Just be sure to review auto-assigned scores and update them if your internal knowledge suggests a more accurate rating.
