Create and manage a Hyver access token

How to generate and manage access tokens for ticketing system integrations like Jira or ServiceNow.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

To connect Hyver with an external ticketing system (such as Jira or ServiceNow), you need to generate an access token. This token authenticates the integration and allows it to communicate securely with Hyver.

Only one token can exist at a time, and it’s valid for one year.

Steps

  1. Open the Access Token page
Click the Settings icon in the top navigation bar, then select Access Token:

  2. Create a token

    • If no token exists, click Create Token:

    • The token will be generated and displayed once.

    • Copy the token immediately by clicking the copy icon — once you do, it disappears from view but can still be pasted.

  3. Copy the Hyver URL

    • The Hyver URL is displayed by default on the same page.

    • Copy this along with your token and paste both into the webhook configuration in your ticketing system (e.g., Jira or ServiceNow).

Managing token states

No token exists

You’ll see a Create Token button. Click to generate a new token.

Token is expired

  1. Select Delete Token from the menu:

  2. Then click Create Token to generate a new one.

Important: If your token expires, the integration with your ticketing system will stop working until a new token is created and added.

Token is active

You cannot create a new token until the current one is deleted.

  1. Select Delete Token.

  2. Then click Create Token to generate a new one.

  3. Update the token in your ticketing system to restore the connection.

Important: Deleting an active token immediately breaks the connection with your ticketing system. Be sure to update the new token promptly.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Access tokens keep your integration secure, but they need to be handled carefully. Always store them securely, and update your external systems right away when changes are made.
