Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to manually add a new asset in Hyver. You’ll choose the asset type, fill in key details, and assign it to the right engagement. This is useful when you need to track an asset that wasn’t discovered automatically or needs to be created for planning purposes.

1. Open the Assets page

Click the Assets icon in the left navigation pane.

2. Start creating a new asset

Click Add asset at the top center of the page.
This opens the asset creation window:

3. Choose the asset type

In the Type field:

  • Select an existing asset type from the dropdown, or

  • Start typing a name and click + New to create a new type if it doesn’t exist yet

Note: The available fields will change depending on the asset type you choose (e.g., a technology asset will have different inputs than a process asset).

4. Fill in asset details

  • Importance Level – Choose a level from 1 (low) to 10 (critical) based on how vital this asset is to the organization.

  • Engagement – Select the engagement this asset belongs to.

  • Tags – Add existing tags or create new ones to help group and identify this asset later.

5. Create the asset

Click Create to save the new asset and add it to your current engagement.

Important notes

  • The fields shown during creation depend on the asset type you select.

  • Use consistent naming and tagging to keep assets organized and easy to find.

  • If you're not sure whether to add a Technology or Process asset, see related articles below.
