Overview
This article introduces the two ways you can add remediation assets to a finding in Hyver.
A remediation asset is a system, device, or component where the vulnerability (finding) was detected. You can link existing assets, create new ones, or import them from a CSV file.
Options for Adding Remediation Assets
You can add remediation assets to a finding in two ways:
Manually — Add existing or new assets from within Hyver
Import from CSV — Bulk upload assets using a structured file
This article covers the manual option. CSV import is explained in a separate article.
Manually Adding a Remediation Asset
Open the Findings page
Click the Findings icon in the left navigation to view the list of findings.Select the finding
Click the menu icon in the row of the finding
Or click the menu icon in the top-right corner of the finding’s detail pane:
Then:
Choose Add remediation asset:
A dialog opens showing a dropdown of previously defined assets.Select an existing asset
Choose from the dropdown list of available assets already created in Hyver:You may check Has been verified if the remediation is already confirmed as complete:
Adding a New Asset
Alternatively, click + Add New Asset to create both a new asset and a new remediation asset linked to the finding:
In the creation form:
Type – Choose the type of asset (e.g., Application, IP Range), or enter a new one
Status – Set the current remediation status:
Open
To Do
In Progress
On Hold
Fixed
Reopen
Acceptable Risk
Not Relevant
Draft
Awaiting Approval
Not Approved
Approved
If a finding is not an edge on the mitigation graph, it can be marked as Fixed even if the linked remediation asset has a status of Acceptable Risk.
Severity – Select the severity of the finding on this asset: Critical, High, Medium, Low, or Informative
Product – Specify the product or platform (e.g., SQL, Java)
Additional Info – Add context or notes
Linked Edges – Connect the asset to a graph edge if applicable
Click Create to add the remediation asset to the finding.
What happens after remediation
Once all linked remediation assets are set to Fixed, the finding itself can be marked Fixed. At that point:
The system may prompt for a description of the fix:
A comment labeled Marked as fixed is added to the Project tab
The fix is visible to both your team and the CYE service team
Calculations update automatically (e.g., mitigation graph, likelihood)
A verified fixed finding is shown with a green shield icon in the list.
Wrap-up / Next Steps
Adding remediation assets ensures every finding is tied to the systems that need attention. Use manual or bulk methods based on your workflow and keep statuses accurate for clean tracking.
