Graph Visualizer and Filtering

Use visualization and filter options to focus your mitigation graph view on specific findings and routes.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to use the Graph Visualizer in Hyver to control how information is displayed in the mitigation graph. You’ll learn how to filter by route types, highlight key areas, and understand what’s currently being shown — or hidden — in your view.

Filtering the graph helps you analyze attack paths more efficiently and avoid visual clutter.

How to Use the Graph Visualizer

  1. Click the Graph Visualizer button in the top toolbar.

  2. A panel opens with filtering and display options:

Tip: If a green dot appears on the Graph Visualizer button, it means some filters or highlight options are active. Click Clear in the top-right of each section to reset them:

Key Display Options

Show Routes

Toggles the visibility of all attack routes in the graph.

Limited Routes

Limited routes are partial attack paths — they begin from a threat source but don’t reach a business asset:

  • Often, this happens when a finding was fixed, breaking the route:

  • Limited routes appear with a specific icon to mark them as "dead ends".

You can refine this further with:

  • Limited routes only — shows disconnected paths.

  • Limited routes + Potential findings — includes dead-end paths that contain unconfirmed vulnerabilities.

Potential Findings

Displays findings that are suspected but not yet confirmed — these typically lack evidence.

  • This filter is off by default, so these findings won’t show unless you enable it.

  • You can enable it with or without selecting Limited routes.

Understanding Filter States

  • If Fixed findings and Limited routes are selected:
You’ll see all partial attack paths, including those previously disrupted by resolved issues.

  • If both are deselected:
The graph will only show open, valid attack routes that currently reach business assets.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

The Graph Visualizer lets you focus on the parts of the graph that matter most for your current task — whether that’s spotting unconfirmed issues, reviewing recent remediations, or analyzing failed attack paths.

Once you're comfortable filtering and highlighting, you can move on to planning mitigation strategies or reviewing the findings in detail.
