Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

When you manually rate a subcategory in Hyver, it’s good practice to explain why. This article shows you how to add, edit, and track your reasoning using the Reason for selection field — a key tool for transparency and collaboration in the maturity assessment process.

How to Add a Reason

  1. Select or change a maturity level

    • A popup window appears inviting you to explain your rating:

  2. Enter your reasoning

    • Provide context such as:

      • Supporting documentation

      • Internal processes or tools in place

      • Why a specific rating was appropriate

  3. Alternatively, click Reason for selection

    • You can add or edit a reason at any time, even after the initial rating is saved

Editing and Version History

  • Who can edit: Only users with editing permissions

  • Changes are tracked: All new entries or edits are automatically saved to the History tab for that subcategory

This helps maintain an audit trail and makes it easier to revisit past decisions, especially during reviews or audits.
