New in April: maturity score improvements, Okta SSO, Jira sync, and plan-level finding management.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article walks you through the latest features released in April 2024. From security technology scoring to seamless platform integrations, each update is designed to streamline your work in Hyver and improve collaboration across systems.

Here’s what you’ll find in this release and how each feature can support your workflow.

1. Security technologies now impact the maturity score

The Maturity Assessment in Hyver now reflects the use of relevant security technologies as part of your organization’s score.

You can now:

  1. Define technologies in the platform that align with specific NIST subcategories.

  2. See these technologies contribute directly to maturity scoring, offering a more balanced view that includes both processes and technical controls.

This enhancement makes the maturity evaluation more objective and helps demonstrate technology adoption efforts in strategic reporting.

2. Okta SAML integration for single sign-on (SSO)

Hyver now supports SAML-based SSO with Okta.

With this update:

  1. Users can log in to Hyver using their existing Okta credentials.

  2. There’s no need to create separate usernames or passwords for Hyver.

This simplifies onboarding and access management — especially for large organizations already using Okta.

3. Jira bidirectional support

The Hyver–Jira integration now supports bidirectional updates.

What this means:

  1. When you create a Jira ticket from a Hyver finding, any status updates in Jira will automatically sync back to that finding in Hyver.

  2. This allows your remediation progress to stay consistent across both platforms without manual tracking.

A more connected workflow reduces friction between security and engineering teams.

4. Move findings between plans

You can now move findings directly from one mitigation plan to another.

This feature allows you to:

  1. Reassign findings without deleting or recreating them.

  2. Adjust and optimize your mitigation strategy without losing progress or context.

It’s a small but powerful improvement that makes managing multiple plans much easier.

Important notes

  • The Okta SAML feature must be configured by an admin with appropriate access.

  • Jira bidirectional syncing applies only to tickets created through Hyver.
