Integration Disconnected Notification: What It Means and What to Do

Explains the “Integration Disconnected” pop-up in Hyver and how to respond to it.

Updated over 4 months ago

Overview

This article explains the new notification pop-up that appears when an integration stops working in Hyver.

  • You'll learn why this message shows up, what actions you can take based on your role, and how to resolve the issue depending on the integration type.

This ensures you’re never left unaware when critical data stops flowing into Hyver.

Why this pop-up appears

Hyver integrates with various external systems like Defender for Cloud, Azure, Jira, Qualys VMDR, Rapid7 InsightVM, and more. If one of these integrations fails — due to a dropped connection, expired credentials, or another issue — data flow may be interrupted.

To help highlight when an integration becomes disconnected, Hyver now includes several types of alerts — one of which is a pop-up notification.

  • This pop-up is designed to prompt immediate action and prevent gaps in your data. While other indicators (like a red dot next to the Integrations and Workflows tab) also signal issues, this article focuses specifically on the pop-up and how to respond to it.

Here’s what the pop-up message generally says — we’ll now walk through the different ways you can respond to it:

What the notification shows based on your permissions

The notification appears inside the Hyver UI when an integration is disconnected. What you see depends on your permissions:

  • If you're an admin, you’ll see a Resolve issue button that takes you directly to the Integrations page:

  • If you're not an admin, the message will prompt you to contact your administrator — since only admins can access the Integrations page and fix connection issues:

What admins see in the Integrations page

If you're an admin, go ahead and click the button to open the Integrations page.

The Integrations page shows all available integrations — not just the one that failed. That’s because more than one integration might be affected at once.

You’ll see:

  • A red dot next to the Integrations and Workflows tab (if at least one integration is disconnected):

  • The affected integration(s) marked with a “Disconnected” label, for example:

  • Once you enter the integration’s page, you’ll see an error message confirming that the connection has failed.

    • If the integration’s API provides a reason for the failure, Hyver will include it in the message.

    • If not, a general notice will appear instead.

  • Either way, the message makes it clear that the integration is disconnected and action is needed — and there are two ways to move forward, which we’ll walk through next.

What to do next (admins only)

Depending on the integration, there are two possible actions:

1. Reauthenticate the integration

For most integrations (e.g., Jira, KnowBe4, Tenable VM, etc.)

  • You’ll see a Reauthenticate button:

  • Pressing it opens an editable form with the existing credentials, for example:

  • Update credentials as needed, then click Save.

    • The Save button is only enabled after required fields are filled.

  • If the reauthentication succeeds:

    • The red indicator and “Disconnected” status will disappear.

  • If it fails:

    • The error message and disconnected status will remain.

  • Pressing Cancel returns you to the Integrations page without making changes.

2. Check connection (Health Check)

For integrations with Tenant ID that cannot be edited (e.g., Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Azure)

  • You’ll see a Check Connection button.

  • Pressing it runs a Health Check — Hyver attempts to reconnect using the existing tenant ID.

  • If successful:

    • The alert and disconnected status are cleared.

  • If unsuccessful:

    • The error message and disconnected status remain.

Still having trouble?

If you’ve tried the suggested fix and the issue still isn’t resolved, please reach out to our support team for further help:

  • You can do this by clicking the green C icon in the lower-right corner of the screen:

Important notes

  • The alert is real — it’s not a bug or test. It means your data has stopped flowing into Hyver.

  • Reauthentication is available only when the integration allows editing credentials.

  • Health Check is used when credentials (like tenant IDs) are locked to prevent data loss.

Wrap-up / Next Steps
