Overview

This article explains which users have permission to share findings and change sharing modes in Hyver.
Whether you're assigning access to a single finding or updating permissions in bulk, access control depends on the user's role and how the finding was originally shared.


Who can share a finding or change permissions?

To manage sharing for a finding, the following conditions must be met:

The finding must be shared using one of these modes:

  • Anyone with permission, or

  • Restricted members, with the user assigned as an Administrator or Editor


Users who can share and change permissions:

Editor (company-level or engagement-level)

Shared as Editor in Restricted members mode, or part of Anyone with permission

Can share the finding and change its permission mode

Power User

Editor role + company-level or engagement-level access

Can share findings and change permission mode

Administrator (company or engagement level)

No additional roles required

Can share findings individually or in bulk, and update permission modes across multiple findings


Key behavior to remember:

  • A user who is assigned Editor or Administrator permission through sharing gains the ability to:

    • Re-share the finding

    • Change its permission mode

    • Assign others as Viewers or Editors
