This article explains which users have permission to share findings and change sharing modes in Hyver.
Whether you're assigning access to a single finding or updating permissions in bulk, access control depends on the user's role and how the finding was originally shared.
Who can share a finding or change permissions?
To manage sharing for a finding, the following conditions must be met:
The finding must be shared using one of these modes:
Anyone with permission, or
Restricted members, with the user assigned as an Administrator or Editor
Users who can share and change permissions:
User Type | Conditions | What they can do |
Editor (company-level or engagement-level) | Shared as Editor in Restricted members mode, or part of Anyone with permission | Can share the finding and change its permission mode |
Power User | Editor role + company-level or engagement-level access | Can share findings and change permission mode |
Administrator (company or engagement level) | No additional roles required | Can share findings individually or in bulk, and update permission modes across multiple findings |
Key behavior to remember:
A user who is assigned Editor or Administrator permission through sharing gains the ability to:
Re-share the finding
Change its permission mode
Assign others as Viewers or Editors
