Managing Share Access

Remove members from a finding's access list, and the rules that protect the creator and admins.

This article explains how to remove members from a finding's share settings in the Cye Exposure Management Platform, and the rules that limit who can be removed.

Overview

Depending on the sharing mode and a user's role, there are limits on who can be removed from a finding's access list.

Remove a member

  1. Open the Share with members window for the finding.

  2. Locate the member you want to remove.

  3. Click the trash icon next to their name.

Rules and limitations

  • Administrators can be removed only when the finding is in Restricted members mode — not in Anyone with permission mode.

  • The creator of a finding cannot be removed, in either sharing mode.

  • If a creator is removed from the engagement, they remain listed as the finding's creator.

  • If a creator is removed at the company level and their account becomes inactive, they remain the finding's creator.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

  • Manage who has access from the Share with members window — see Sharing Findings for modes and roles.
