Overview
This article explains how to check whether a finding has multiple versions in Hyver and how versioning works when you make edits.
If Hyver has not created any additional versions for a finding, the Version field will not appear.
How versioning is triggered
When you edit a finding version for the first time, Hyver automatically creates and saves the original version:
This original version serves as a baseline and cannot be edited or deleted.
Any further versions that are created — manually or through recurring assessments — can be edited or deleted, depending on your permissions.
How to check the version
Open the finding in the right-hand pane.
If the finding has multiple versions, a Version field will appear.
Click the field to view a list of all available versions.
If no new version exists, you won’t see the Version field — this means the finding has only one version and has not changed across assessments.
Example scenario
If a finding is edited (e.g., you update the severity or description), Hyver:
Saves the current state as Version 1
Creates a new editable version with your changes
This helps track changes over time without losing the original context of the finding.
Wrap-up / Next Steps
Versioning gives you a clear view of how a finding evolves — and ensures edits don’t erase valuable history. If you don’t see a version field, the finding hasn’t changed since its creation.
