Configuring Widget Settings in Reports

Customize what each widget displays in your report by adjusting its parameters.

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to configure the settings of individual widgets in Hyver report templates. Whether you're adding a new widget or editing an existing one, you can choose exactly which parameters appear — so your report focuses on the metrics that matter most.

Widget settings are editable by Hyver administrators only.

1. Open widget settings in a template

  • Go to My Templates and click Edit on the template you want to update

  • Select an existing widget, or click + to add a new one:

  • Click the gear icon on the widget to open its settings menu:

2. Choose what to display

In the settings panel, you’ll see a list of available parameters.
You can select or deselect options to fine-tune what the widget shows in your report.

Changes are saved automatically, so there's no need to confirm or apply.

3. Widget-specific settings examples

Each widget type has its own set of parameters you can configure. For example:

  • Exposure
Adjust how current exposure data is presented in your report:

  • Cost of Breach
Choose which cost categories (e.g., reputation, customer info, IP) to highlight:

  • Mitigation Success Trends
Show time-based trends for exposure reduction and breach cost improvements:

  • Organization Maturity
Display maturity scores across domains, subcategories, or over time:

  • Maturity by NIST Functions
Visualize maturity across the NIST pillars (Identify, Protect, etc.):

  • Maturity Trends
Highlight how your maturity levels have evolved over time:

You can revisit these settings anytime — even after a widget is added to the template.

Important notes

  • You can only configure widget settings in My Templates

  • Default Hyver templates are read-only — duplicate first if you want to make changes

  • All setting changes are saved instantly, so there’s no risk of losing your edits

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Widgets let you shape the story behind your metrics. Use the settings panel to highlight what your audience cares about most — whether it's executive-level trends or hands-on remediation progress.

Play around with the options to find the clearest, most compelling layout for your team.
