Importing Remediation Assets (CSV)

Bulk import remediation assets from a CSV file and map them to findings in Hyver.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to import remediation assets into Hyver using a structured CSV file.
You can import both new and existing assets. If an asset type does not yet exist in Hyver, it will be created automatically during import. To complete the import, you’ll map your CSV fields to Hyver’s required asset and remediation asset fields.

1. Start the import process

  • Click the Findings icon to open the findings list.

  • In the row of the relevant finding, click the menu icon and choose Import remediations from CSV:

Or open the finding’s right-hand pane and use the same option from the menu.

This opens the Import Remediation Assets wizard.

2. Select asset type and prepare your CSV

  • Choose the Remediation Asset type from the dropdown menu:

  • Download the CSV template using the link provided.
Mandatory columns are labeled clearly in the template:

If an asset type doesn’t exist in Hyver, it will be created automatically during the import.

  • Fill in the template with your remediation data and save the file.

3. Upload your CSV file

  • Drag the file into the wizard window or click Select file:

  • If the first row of your file contains headers, toggle on First row of the CSV file is headers.

  • If you’ve saved a mapping before, toggle on Load saved column mapping template and choose a template:

Click Next to continue. The following displays:

4. Map CSV fields to Hyver fields

  • In the CSV columns area, you’ll see each column from your file.

  • In the Hyver fields section, you’ll see both Asset and Remediation Asset fields.

To complete the mapping:

  • Drag and drop each CSV column to the corresponding Hyver field with a red asterisk (*):

  • To remove a mapping, click the trash icon in the Hyver field box:

Mapping tips:

  • Map all required fields (marked with *):

  • The Extended Data field allows up to five fields (e.g., CVEs, headers):

  • You can drag multiple CSV columns into Extended Data — they will be consolidated automatically:

The following shows what it looks like after three columns have been dragged and dropped onto it:

5. Understanding consolidation

If multiple rows in your CSV refer to the same asset (e.g., each row lists a different CVE):

  • Hyver will consolidate them into a single remediation asset.

  • The remediation asset will display all CVEs in the right-hand details pane.

  • This reduces duplicate entries and simplifies remediation tracking.

Note: Consolidation is based only on the values in the Extended Data columns.

6. Import the file

  • Once all mappings are complete, click Import # remediations:

  • Hyver validates the data and begins the import.

If successful:

  • A confirmation message shows how many remediation assets were imported:

If there are errors:

  • You’ll see a link to a log file with details about missing fields or invalid data.

  • Fix the file and restart the process.

Duplicates will also be flagged during import.

7. Save your mapping (optional)

To reuse your field mapping in the future:

  • Click Save column mapping as template:

  • Enter a template name and click Save:

8. Review imported remediation assets

  • Click View imported remediations to go directly to the remediation asset list.

  • The Created by column shows the importing user, or “Hyver” if generated automatically.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Importing remediation assets via CSV makes it easy to scale your findings and asset management. Use field mapping templates and consolidation to keep your imports clean and efficient.
