Overview
This article walks you through how to link a remediation asset to an edge in the mitigation graph — either by selecting an existing asset or creating a new one. This helps connect each vulnerability (finding) to the system, device, or component that needs to be remediated.
You’ll also learn how to manage multiple edges linked to the same finding.
When and Why to Add a Remediation Asset
Each edge in the graph represents a vulnerability (finding).
Remediation assets represent the infrastructure that must be fixed.
Because a single finding can appear on multiple edges, remediation assets are linked at the edge level, not just the finding level.
Option 1: Add During Finding Creation
If you’re using the Add a Finding wizard:
After creating and linking the finding to an edge, click
Add remediation assets to this edge.Choose one of the following tabs:
Your remediation assets – select from existing ones.
Create new remediation asset – define a new one using an existing asset or by adding a new one from scratch.
Option 2: Add from the Graph
Right-click the edge where the finding is linked:
Select Add remediation asset to edge.
In the wizard, click Add remediation assets to this finding.
Then choose from the two paths below:
Path A: Use an Existing Remediation Asset
Click the Your remediation assets tab:
Search and select the remediation asset.
Click Add to link it to the selected edge.
Path B: Create a New Remediation Asset
Go to the Create new remediation asset tab:
Select an existing asset or click + Add new asset to define a new one.
Input asset details, then click Next.
Enter remediation asset details.
In the Connect to edge dropdown, choose the edge you want to link it to:
Click Create to complete the process.
Wrap-up / Next Steps
Linking remediation assets to findings adds operational clarity — ensuring each risk is tied to a fixable element. Whether you're building from existing assets or starting fresh, this step helps turn insights into action.
Next, explore how to track remediation progress or use these assets in planning dashboards.
