Remediating Asset Findings

View and fix findings tied to specific assets to improve your security posture.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to remediate findings associated with specific assets in Hyver. You’ll learn how to review asset-level findings, update statuses, and understand when it's appropriate to mark certain risks as fixed.

1. Open the Asset Discovery view

From the Assets page, expand each asset to see a list of all associated findings — this helps you understand the security posture of individual systems:

This view is especially useful for asset owners who want to focus on issues they’re responsible for.

2. Sort by Domain

To narrow the list, sort assets by the Domain column.
This makes it easy to group and locate assets by business area or technical ownership.

3. Review and remediate findings

Each asset may have one or more associated findings (called remediation assets). You can change their status as follows:

  • From Acceptable risk to Fixed
If a finding has been accepted as a business risk but later remediated, you can update its status to Fixed.

  • From Not Relevant to Fixed
If a finding was initially marked as Not Relevant, but later addressed, it can also be changed to Fixed.

Note: Findings that are not connected (edges) in the Mitigation Graph — but still carry business risk — can also be updated if they've been resolved.

Important notes

  • Findings with the status Acceptable risk or Not Relevant should only be marked Fixed after remediation is fully completed.

  • Always confirm changes reflect the current status of the asset and that ownership is clear.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

The Asset Discovery view is your central place to track and remediate findings across your environment. Keeping statuses up to date helps ensure the mitigation graph reflects reality — and shows measurable progress.
