Reviewing a Finding’s Remediation Assets

See which assets are affected by a finding and how they influence its status.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to view the remediation assets associated with a specific finding in Hyver.
Remediation assets are the specific systems, services, or components where a vulnerability has been identified. These assets determine how a finding behaves, including its status and severity.

How to display remediation assets for a finding

  1. Click the Findings icon in the left-hand navigation to open the full list.

  2. Locate the finding you want to investigate.

  3. Click the Expand icon in the row to reveal a list of remediation assets linked to that finding:

Each asset represents a system impacted by the vulnerability and must be addressed to fully remediate the finding.

What the remediation asset table shows

  • Severity
The severity of the finding reflects the highest severity of its remediation assets.

  • Status
The finding’s status reflects the least progressed remediation asset.

    • If even one asset is Open, the entire finding is Open.

    • Only when all linked remediation assets are Fixed, can the finding itself be marked Fixed.

  • Acceptable Risk
You can also mark a finding as Fixed if it’s not on the mitigation graph and all linked remediation assets are either Fixed, Acceptable Risk, or Not Relevant.

  • Last Seen
Shows the last time each remediation asset was detected in an assessment. This timestamp updates when a new version of the finding is created.

  • Tags
Lists any tags associated with each remediation asset.

  • Remediation Asset ID
Every remediation asset has a unique ID that begins with #R-.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Reviewing remediation assets helps you understand the full scope of a finding — and ensures you’re remediating all affected systems, not just one. Always check this list before closing a finding.
