Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article explains how to edit report templates in Hyver. You can adjust layout, update content, and add widgets to tailor reports to your organization's needs. Only Hyver administrators can create or edit templates.

Note: You can’t edit Hyver’s default templates directly — but you can duplicate them to make your own version.

1. Understand where editing happens

You can only edit templates listed under My Templates.

If you want to customize a default Hyver template:

  • Go to Hyver Templates

  • Click Duplicate

  • A copy of the template is added to My Templates

  • Now you can edit your version

2. Edit your custom template

  • Go to the My Templates section

  • Select the template you want to update

  • Click Edit from the menu, or use the Edit Template button on the right:

From the template menu, you can also:

  • Create report from the template

  • Rename template

  • Delete template

  • Duplicate template

3. Make changes in edit mode

While editing a template, you can:

  • Add or remove widgets (click the + button to add one):

  • Enter or change text

  • Paste images

  • Reposition text boxes as needed

Tip: Press Enter to insert a new section — useful for adding spacing or starting fresh content blocks.

4. Preview or create a report

Once your edits are done, you can:

  • Click Preview to see how the report will look

  • Click Create Report to generate a report using your edited template

You can view the generated report on the Reports page or download it as a PDF.

Important notes

  • Only administrators can edit templates or create new ones

  • Hyver templates are read-only — always duplicate before editing

  • Changes in a template are saved automatically

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Templates help you build consistent, tailored reports that highlight what matters most to your organization. Once you’ve set up a structure you like, you can reuse and refine it over time.

Feel free to experiment with layout, text, and widgets until your report feels just right.
